Cochleosauridae is a family of Temnospondyli. Most members of this family are known from the late Carboniferous (Pennsylvanian) and early Permian (Cisuralian) of Europe and North America. Though Nigerpeton is known from the Late Permian (Lopingian) of Niger in North Africa.
