Calhoun played college basketball for the University of Pennsylvania.[1] Calhoun was selected by the Phoenix Suns in the 1972 NBA Draft with the 4th overall pick and by the Kentucky Colonels in the 1972 American Basketball Association draft. Calhoun played for the Phoenix Suns for 3 years before being traded to the Los Angeles Lakers. He joined the Portland Trail Blazers as a free agent in 1976, and was a member of their championship team that year. After two seasons with the Blazers, Calhoun was traded to the Indiana Pacers where he was released in the middle of the 1980 season. He considered playing in France, but ultimately took a job offer from Mobil Oil Corporation (now Exxon Mobil) where he has been working since as U.S. fuels marketing coordinator.[2] He currently is Vice President – Marketing at Capitol Petroleum Group LLC as reported http://www.linkedin.com/pub/corky-calhoun/7a/6a5/57.
