DIDWW Ireland is a virtual phone number and toll free numbers provider founded in 2004.[2][3][4] It specializes in voice over IP (VoIP) and session initiation protocol (SIP).[5][6][7]

History[edit]

The company was founded in 2004 as a global voice origination services provider.[1][8][failed verification] The company provides fully automated local virtual numbers and toll free numbers globally for enterprises, businesses, mobile and local telecom operators backed by private global network.[1][9][10]

DIDWW's Shared Channel was named among several dozen "Internet Telephony Product of the Year" award winners for 2009.[11][12][13]

DIDWW is a licensed telecom operator in a number of countries,[14][15] and is a member of ITU and RIPE.[2][16][17][failed verification]

In 2012, PortaOne, Inc. announced its VoIP management platform, PortaSwitch, to be interoperable with DIDWW's Global Direct Inward Dialing Solutions.[18] This collaboration created a seamless[tone] combined use of the two infrastructures.[18][19]

The company has been referred in the book, How to Start a VoIP Business: A Six-Stage Guide to Becoming a VoIP Service Provider,[4][relevant?] apart from various magazines like PTS.[20][21][failed verification]

In December 2019, the company started providing two-way SMS services in the US and Canada.[22][23]

In 2020 DIDWW opened a telephony museum in Siauliai, Lithuania.[24] The company curated a collection of exhibits and other artifacts related to 200 years of the history of telephony in Lithuania and the world.[25][26]

In May 2021 DIDWW joined the international mobile network operators association GSMA.[27][28] In the summer of 2021, DIDWW partnered with PCCW Global to expand SIP trunking services to Europe and Asia.[29]

In April 2022 it was assigned with Mobile Country Code (MCC) and Mobile Network Code (MNC).[30][31] In May of the same year, DIDWW joined Communications Fraud Control Association CFCA.[32][33] In October it started offering Universal International Freephone Numbers (UIFN).[34] In December, DIDWW became licensed as a telecom operator in Slovenia, Croatia, and Spain. In June, it became ISO 27001 certified.[35]

At the beginning of 2023, the company expanded Toll-free virtual number coverage to Moldova, Malaysia and Kenya.[36] In September of the same year, the company expanded its number portability coverage to include a total of 39 countries, adding South Africa, Chile, and Estonia.[37][38] In October 2023 it established its new point of presence (PoP) in Amsterdam to expand its lineup of PoPs globally, which includes New York, Los Angeles, Miami, Singapore, Frankfurt, and Hong Kong.[37][39] In December of the same year, the company joined Pacific Telecommunications Council (PTC).[40][41]

In January 2024 the company acquired national telecom operator licenses in Hong Kong, a total of 28 licenses and 13 number ranges.[39]
