Hartlepool United

A product of Hartlepool United's youth system, Having previously been at Sunderland's Academy for four years and Wallsend Boys Club,Jones established himself in the youth team in the 2012-13 season making 23 appearances for the youth side and nine appearances for the reserves.[2] Jones' form saw him offered his first professional contract in April 2013.[3] Jones' progress was hampered after a knee injury in October 2013 which saw Dan ruled out for two months with a meniscus cartilage tear.[4]

Jones made his first-team debut in March 2014, as a substitute for the injured Darren Holden, in a 4-2 defeat to Mansfield Town.[5]

On 22 May 2014, Jones signed a new contract of an undisclosed length.[6] On 5 December 2014, Jones started for Hartlepool against non-league Blyth Spartans in the FA Cup 2nd Round.[7]

Upon new Hartlepool manager Ronnie Moore's arrival at the club, Jones began to get a lot more games in defence alongside Michael Duckworth, Neil Austin, David Mirfin and Scott Harrison. Jones became a valuable member of the team and helped Hartlepool to avoid relegation from League Two.

Grimsby Town
