Dean Armstrong (born April 24, 1973) is a Canadian actor, producer and acting coach known for his roles in television, film and theatre.[1]

Early life

Armstrong was born in Owen Sound, Ontario. He attended Queen’s University, Kingston and graduated with degrees in theater arts and education.[2][3]

Career

In 2000, Armstrong appeared in the US on Showtime (2000–2005) and Broadway (2000–2002). In 2005, Armstrong appeared in the Canadian premiere of Tick, Tick ... Boom!.[4]

Some of Armstrong's acting credits include Copper, Flashpoint, Alphas, Wrong Turn 4: Bloody Beginnings, The Listener, Haven, Saw 3D, 5 seasons on Showtime’s Queer as Folk, the season 2 host of the CBC 6 part mini-series Triple Sensation as well as 2 years on Broadway in Jonathan Larson's Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award winning musical, Rent. He is also the founder and executive producer of Appulse Films.

Armstrong is the director of Armstrong Acting Studios, which is a training facility for film and TV actors. Among his alumni are Miley Cyrus, Nina Dobrev, Devon Bostick, Miriam McDonald, Jacqueline MacInnes Wood and Brittany Allen.[5][6]
