Dho Tarap is a village in Dolpo Buddha Rural Municipality of Dolpa District in the Karnali Zone of north-western Nepal. At the time of the 2011 Nepal census it had a population of 923 persons living in 205 individual households.[1]

Dho village [Warad-1, Dolpo Buddha RM] and its neighbor villages Lang [Ward-2, Dolpo Buddha RM] and Tokyou [Ward-3, Dolpo Buddha RM] are collectively known as Dho-Tarap. The valley lies from 3900 meter to 4200 meter above sea level. There are 8 different monasteries including a Bon monastery. Crystal Mountain School which was established in 1994 by Action Dolpo france is the only school in the valley. The school provides free education to children of the valley and surrounding villages. There is a health post support by the project and also an Amchi Clinic [traditional healing practice]. Dho Tarap lies in a strategic center, which can be reached in a travel distance of one day from nine different villages of Dolpa. It used be the capital of Dolpo, before it was annexed by the King of Gorkha in 17th Century.
