History
Dighal village was established in 1194 by a legend named 'DIGHA'. Dighat is first largest village in polulation on single panchyat in haryana and second largest in overall population wise in Haryana. Dighal' is a village in the Jhajjar district of Haryana, India located about 70 kilometres (43 mi) northwest of New Delhi. Dighal is connected by NH-352. On NH-352 there is a Toll Tax also in village. Dighal is colonized by Digha JAAT, so it is called Dighal. Dighal is second largest village in Haryana.[citation needed] There is large number of ponds, two Gausala, 5 government school, temples and a Saheed Bhawan in village.
Contribution to Indian Armed forces
Dighal gives large number of officers and soldiers to Indian Army and has many decorated soldiers with gallantry award. Shaheed Captain Narender Singh Ahlawat is one such name. Son of Maj Ran Singh, he studied in Sainik School and joined Indian Army where he got commissioned in 15 Grenadiers and straightaway went for 1971 war where he was awarded Sena Medal for his bravery. On 28 November 1974 he Laid down his life in 1974 in insurgency in Nagaland while saving his men for which he was awarded Shaurya Chakra (Posthomously).
Contribution to Bureaucracy and Judiciary
Besides armed forces this village has contributed many good administrators, bureaucrats and judicial officers to the nation. Some of such names are Sh. Hari Singh Ahlawat, IPS, IGP( retd), Sh. Nafe Singh Ahlawat, District and Sessions Judge( retd) who was the first judicial officer from the village and many more such names who have served the nation and have brought laurels to the history of the village.
Bird watching
Dighal is surrounded by lakes and wetlands and is on the route of many migratroy bird species which make Dighal an ideal location for bird watching. Hundreds of species of birds migrating from Africa and Northern Asia stop over at Dhigal . On 11 March 2013, Indian Times reported that the Marbeled Teal, Long-Billed Dowitcher, and Baikal Teal were spotted in the village.[citation needed]. Many bird watching enthusiasts from nearby visit the village for bird watching.
Religious Center
There are various temples in the village. Peer Baba Mohjama Temple is most famous in nearby villages and sees a footfall of thousands of people from all over, throughout the year. The village Dighal is surrounded by 17 villages.
Population
The village holds the distinction of having the highest number of defense officers from the state of Haryana. Large number of sportsperson from this village. One of the largest villages in Haryana. The main industry is agriculture.[citation needed] The Dighal village has population of 14146 of which 7663 are males while 6483 are females as per Population Census 2011.
Politics and class
The prominent gotra (clan) in Dighal is Ahlawat and Kaushik. The majority of Dighal's population is of Jat heritage.
The one of the best thing of this village is that there is two "Gausala" cow ranch and all the milk is not to be sold. This is only for the calves.
There is a place named "VEER SAINIK YADGAR" founded by purav kalyan committee in 2013. This is the place which remind us about all the freedom fighter of Dighal village. There is a library in "VEER SAINIK YADGAR."
