Dishkiyaoon is a Bollywood crime action film written and directed by debutant Sanamjit Singh Talwar, and produced by Shilpa Shetty and her husband Raj Kundra along with Eros International. The film features Harman Baweja, debutant Ayesha Khanna, Aditya Pancholi, Sunny Deol and Prashant Narayanan in the lead roles. The storyline is based upon the Mumbai underworld.[3] Originally set to be released on 10 January 2014, the film experienced delays and was eventually released on 28 March 2014.[4]

Dishkiyaoon received mixed reviews from critics in India but was lauded by overseas critics for its stylish and gripping narrative. Despite this, the film flopped at the box office. The film has also been released officially online.[5]

The film was shot in Mumbai and Europe. The first look of the film was released on 14 October 2013.

Reviews

Dishkiyaoon received a mixed critical response. The total domestic box office gross of the film was 5 crore (US$600,000).[6][7]

Soundtrack

The music of Dishkiyaoon was composed by debutant Palash Muchhal, with one song from Sneha Khanwalkar (Nissar). The lyrics of the soundtrack were written by Sanamjit Singh Talwar. Four songs for the film were composed by Palash Muchhal.[8] The album also contains a remix sung by Arijit Singh and Altamash Faridi.

Box office

The film saw an "average" occupancy across the 1500 theatres it opened at in India, better than the other two releases of the week, O Teri and Youngistaan.[9]
