37°39′00.8″N 126°47′41.8″E / 37.650222°N 126.794944°E Andamiro (previously known as Oksan Electronics) is a game company founded in 1992, with the headquarters located in Goyang, South Korea.[1] Andamiro has a secondary headquarters, located in Irving, Texas.[1] Andamiro is most widespread known in the North American and Korean[2] region, specifically Dave & Buster's video arcades.[3] Andamiro is focused on primarily easy to understand arcade games, with the occasional hard to master sport.[4][failed verification] The name "Andamiro" is a transliteration of a korean word which means "Overwhelmingly filled"[5]
As of July 2024, Andamiro's current capital is 1.79 billion won.[6][7]
Products
[edit]Andamiro previously used to craft electrical appliances. and is most well known for creating amusement arcade machines, and the Pump It Up series[8][9], a five-panel take on dancing games, with it being their first line up of arcade games. They are also well known for crafting the In the Groove 2 dedicated cabinet. Andamiro has also published numerous miscellaneous arcade games, such as "Shaq's Garage"[10][11] and "Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom". Occasionally, Andamiro will partner with RedOctane to create home releases of arcade games, primarily the Pump It Up series. [12]
Controversy
[edit]Within the community of dancing games, Andamiro has faced controversy, due to the comparable nature of Pump It Up to Dance Dance Revolution. This has resulted in a lawsuit comparable to the Konami and RoXoR lawsuit[13], in regards to In the Groove 2 and Dance Dance Revolution.[14] Most arguments usually stem off the fact that both games follow similar gimmicks, and use similar controls.[15]
