Andre Oliveira (born 1967, Minas Gerais, Brazil) is a visionary leader in the world of agriculture primarily involved in crop production, development of crop protection products, and innovating farming ecosystems.[1] Oliveira is the founder of CENTRIGO, now recognized as Asia's largest farming ecosystem, reaching millions of farmers across the region.[2][3][4]
Early Life
[edit]Oliveira was born in Brazil in 1967, where he was raised amidst small-scale farming. From a family of lawyers and farmers, his passion for agriculture was ignited early on. After school, he completed his Agronomy studies at the Federal University of Lavras before pursuing a Master's in Plant Protection at Vicosa Federal University.[1]
Career
[edit]Oliveira had a distinguished career at Syngenta, where he held key leading positions across the world in with complex socio-political and economic landscapes in Asia Pacific, China, South America, Europe, and North America.[1]
In 2021, leveraging his extensive global experience, Andre Oliveira founded the CENTRIGO™ Farming Ecosystem. This initiative aims to enhance farmer productivity and profitability in the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region through innovative business models. Under his leadership, CENTRIGO™ has grown to become Asia's largest farming ecosystem, impacting millions of farmers by connecting them to resources, markets, and pioneering farming practices. CENTRIGO™ focuses on boosting productivity and profitability while promoting sustainable agricultural practices.[5]
