Danubia, officially the Republic of Danubia, is a self-proclaimed micronation located between Croatia and Serbia, near Liberland, on a disputed piece of land locally referred to as Pocket-2 of the Croatia-Serbia border dispute. The micronation was declared by Serbian activist Slobodan Ilić on April 7, 2023.
The territory is subject to a dispute between Croatia and Serbia, currently under Croatian control. Both countries refuse to claim the land, as Croatia asserts that the territory belongs to Serbia, but Serbia rejects this and claims that it belongs to Croatia. This creates a legal opening for the Danubian claimant.
