Plot

[edit]

Night 1

[edit]

The first night starts in with a phone call by Phone Guy giving the new nightguard named Mark a heads up that the animatronics can be a bit active but just want to say hi, but Mark doesn't pay attention to this. Freddy, Bonnie and Chica then get ready for the night in which Freddy reminds the others they hired a new guard. While Mark is looking at the cameras, he notices Bonnie move and then the camera goes out, which is caused by Bonnie adjusting a camera. Once the camera is back on, Mark then sees Bonnie up-close staring at him, causing him to scream. The animatronics hear this and decide to pay Mark a visit in order to make him feel less scared. While the gang goes down the hall, Mark assumes they're coming to eat him or stuff him in a suit in which he shuts the door and turns on the light to make sure they're gone. Chica insists on leaving a note while Mark is in there but when he receives it, he screams thinking the note is more scary than friendly. Assuming Mark is in trouble because he's trapped inside, Chica then gets Foxy to help them get him free, since Foxy can't break down the door he crawls through the vent instead. Mark then realizes he needs a mask hopefully thinking the creature in the vent will think he is another animatronic. Foxy then gets into the office and sees Mark in a Mangle mask and swoons over him. While that is happening, Freddy tasks Chica to check the kitchen's camera thinking it's dead. Chica then causes the kitchen camera to become dead, leaving Foxy and Mark to look at the screen. Mark then shoves Foxy back into the vent and seals it, which causes Mark to hallucinate due to lack of air. He then forgets to wind the Music Box which then lets the puppet out, he also drains all the power which then causing him to scream. Freddy assumes that Mark is afraid of the dark, in which Chica gives him the idea he sings his song. He sings his song in a way similar to when he appears when you drain your power in the game. Mark is still scared and thinks Freddy's "singing sucks", in which Freddy gets Bonnie, Chica and Foxy to sing along with him. The Night ends with the Purple Guy named AJ telling Mark he is here for the morning shift, in which Mark looks at the computer and realizes it's 6 AM meaning he survived the night. Purple guy then reminds Mark he has four more nights scheduled.[2]

Night 2

[edit]

The night starts with Mark coming into the office with a bag full of weapons, he plans on using them to defend himself from the animatronics, so he can survive all five nights. While thinking it's Foxy, Mark accidently shoots the janitor in which Mark is suprised about. He then is seen getting taken by the police, in which Chica claims they "lose more security guards this way".[3]

Night 3

[edit]

Night 3 starts with a new nightguard named Nate who mentions it was 7 years since he last worked at this job and regrets working there because he saw "a bear eating a face", he returns due to his Youtube AdSense not being great. Chica realizes Bonnie is gone in which her and Freddy look for. They find Bonnie in the backstage looking at a mysterious crate and they all question what could be in it. While Bonnie is unwrapping the tape to the crate, Chica and Freddy then get second thoughts about his decision and convince Bonnie to wrap it back up. While he goes back, the box is seen to be open and then gets captured by a mysterious creature. Chica and Freddy realize Bonnie isn't back yet and go check back on him, they see he isn't in there and the crate is open thinking whatever was in it took Bonnie, Freddy then tasks Chica to look inside the kitchen again, while she looks in the kitchen, she is also taken by the creature. Freddy asks Foxy to help but instead of Foxy, it's the creature who is named Springtrap. Nate sees Bonnie in the supply closet and questions a sound he is hearing in which Chica says it's the sound of the music box stopping, with her in it. She then tells Nate that Springtrap is coming for him and he tries to shut the door but can't because Springtrap is hiding in the office. He then pops out to try to get Nate but Freddy puts on a superhero costume and tries to save him, however one swipe from Springtrap causes him to give up in which Nate then tries saving himself from Springtrap. The Puppet then tries sending Springtrap back into the crate but then gets it's strings cut because of the fan, Springtrap is then left unconscious due to a vent panel falling on him caused by Foxy. Since the Puppet is gone, the gang assumes no one can defeat Springtrap but Bonnie says he knows a guy, in which Nate responds with "where does he live?".[4]

Night 3.5

[edit]

We see Purple Guy sweeping up the place when he gets a call from Nate saying he will be late to his shift, Purple Guy then asks Nate if he has seen the animatronics since he couldn't find any, but they reveal to be with Nate over the phone. Nate then tells Purple Guy not to mention Springtrap in the supply closet, in which Purple Guy has already found him with his wiring all burnt out. Nate then tells Purple Guy he should be out by midnight, in which Purple Guy does some overtime.[5] This video was released on April 1st and was originally titled Night 4 as an April Fool's Joke. Despite this, it still managed to work it's way into the supercut.

Night 4

[edit]

The start of the video shows that the Police from the end of Night 2 forgetting to lock the perp in the police car, which leads to Mark going back to his house to dye his hair red in order to not be noticed again. Nate and the animatronics then show up at Mark's house with Freddy and Chica worrying about Springtrap. Nate tells them to focus on getting inside the house while he occupies Springtrap with a robot titled Balloon Boy.exe. Mark then hears the animatronics in his house and checks it out, only to be startled by Foxy. While Mark thinks he is going crazy, Freddy then asks "is somebody there" and is seen in the hall, revealing to Mark that he isn't crazy and they are at his house. Foxy then sneaks into Mark's bedroom hiding in his closet, Mark then questions why he hears pirate sounds coming from his closet. He then gets startled by Foxy in which the others come into his room, which leads Mark to grab Freddy and put a knife to his neck, threatening to decapitate him. While Nate is dealing with Springtrap through Balloon Boy, Springtrap accidently knocks off the sensor for Balloon Boy leaving the robot deactivated while the camera is still on, Springtrap then destroys Balloon Boy which resolves the camera feed to be cut off. Back at Mark's house, Bonnie, Chica and Foxy try convencing Mark to put down the knife and let Freddy live. Nate them walks into Mark's bedroom telling him he shouldn't kill him since Freddy holds a special place in the hearts of kids. Mark then asks Nate what he wants and the animatronics confess they need Mark's help to deal with Springtrap since they think if they call the police, the officers would think they're crazy. Mark then asks what he will get out of this, with Nate saying "not lying to the police would be pretty cool", in which he then accepts. The video ends with them driving on their way to defeat Springtrap.[6]

Night 5

[edit]

Mark, Nate, and the animatronics go back to the pizzeria, thinking of a way to defeat Springtrap. Mark then asks if he is actually made of springlocks with him stating springlocks tend to fail when they get wet. Nate then suggests that they put him out with a fire extinguisher, in which he reveals one is located in the Office, in which Mark checks and finds that someone already got it. Nate then gives the other locations of the other fire extinguishers, those locations being the Main Stage, Backstage, Pirate's Cove and the Kitchen. The animatronics then look for them being guided by Nate through the cameras, just like the office, the fire extinguishers for the Main Stage, Backstage and Pirate's Cove have already been taken. Chica then looks in the kitchen asking for help since she thinks she can't do it alone. Since the kitchen camera is down, Mark takes the phone and tells Chica that it is down and she is on her own. She then finds the fire extinguisher but also finds Springtrap leading him to chase her back to the office. Mark catches him with the rope trap he built at the start of the song and commands Nate to douse him. The plan backfires and Nate gets hit in the back of the head of another fire extinguisher, curtesy of Purple Guy. He then reveals he was behind Springtrap and wanted to scare Mark and Nate out so he could work more hours. Nate admits he didn't want the job and Mark admits he is wanted for attempted murder, giving Purple Guy the night shift as long as the animatronics have someone to say up all night with. Phone Guy calls the office and congratulates them for surviving five nights at Freddy's despite it being different than he wanted it to turn out, so he then decides to drop by and finish the job himself. He then destroys one of the walls and is seen in a bear costume, he then unmasks himself revealing to be MatPat. Mark wants an explanation for this to which Phone Guy replies it's a crime scene and they're the victims. It then cuts to a "To Be Continued" screen in which AJ at the end of the video telling the viewers the cliffhanger will be resumed in the Supercut.[7]

The Complete Series

[edit]

The Complete Series was released on July 30th of 2016, containing the six videos explained before with additional content in between the segments like the outside shot of the restaurant and scenes in Nate's apartment, and having the scene at the start of Night 4 being put at the end of Night 2. The Supercut also completed the cliffhanger for Night 5.

Night 5 Ending

[edit]

After Phone Guy says they're the victims of a crime scene, Nate then asks who he is. Phone Guy tells Nate that he goes by many names, others being MatPat and Scott Cawthon. Purple Guy asks if he goes by "Evil Dirtbag with a Chainsaw" which causes him to be impaled by a chainsaw by Phone Guy, killing him with Phone Gut saying that name is his favorite. Mark then tells Phone Guy he will "burn for this", to which he says he brought the right tool for the job, revealing his weapon to be a chainsaw flamethrower. Freddy then asks him to leave them alone, but he kicks Freddy across the office. He then thanks Mark for all of this happening since he didn't listen to what he said on the first night about the animatronics just wanting to say hi. Mark replies with "not all of them" and then releases Springtrap who then attacks Phone Guy, which then leads Mark, Nate and the animatronics leaving with Mark carrying Freddy. While they're leaving, Phone Guy then slices Springtrap's head off, but he still remains active. He accidently turns on the flamethrower, which then leads Freddy Fazbear's to burn to the ground. The Next day we see Nate reading the newspaper about the news while being on a phone call with Mark saying the article should've been titled "Freddy Fazburns", in which Mark says that's a horrible name and should go write for them but Nate declines since the job doesn't have "haunted animatronics or chainsaw maniacs", Mark then reveals Freddy's is opening a sister location but Nate gets another phone call. The other call is done by Phone Guy who is revealed to still be alive and wanting his revenge, Nate asks if he can "put him on hold" leading to him throwing his phone in the water fountain. It then cuts to Freddy, Bonnie, Chica and Foxy now being apart of a studio called "FazGames Limited". The final shot before the credits shows Mark cooking hot dogs with the chainsaw flamethrower.[1]

Night 6 - Nightmare Night

[edit]

Night 6 was the only night released after the supercut, being released on April 1st, 2017. The Thumbnail depicted Freddy, Bonnie, Chica and Foxy being in a nightmare form with Purple guy screaming in fear. The video actually depicts Purple guy falling asleep and keep waking up to dreams of a bad sounding orchestra constructed by Bonnie, revealing to be an April Fools Joke and there was no Night 6. The thumbnail was then changed to Purple guy singing with "April Fools" being in the bottom right.[8]

Production

[edit]

With the success of FNAF, AJ and Peter decided to make a musical about it. AJ wrote the script for Nights 1 and 2 with trying to add elements from all 3 games and making the animatronics more friendly than they are in the original game. For the set design, they used one of their living rooms as the office with their backdoor as the door from the main game, they put a black rug behind the door to make it look like the hallway to the pizzeria. They covered up their windows in that room with bulletin boards made of Styrofoam with posters of fan art of FNAF done by their fans and had checkered patterned paper with red tape covering both the top and the bottom, they also covered up the windows with black mats for when they filmed in the day to block out the sunlight. They had balloons covering the view of their kitchen and on Night 5 used a Styrofoam wall covering up their living room for it to later be destroyed by MatPat.[9] The other rooms in the pizzeria were made digitally by Peter, with green/blue screen being used for the puppets. Additional locations include Battlegroundz, Lancaster (for the Police Station scene at the end of Night 2) and Nate's house (Mark's house in Night 4). The Animatronic puppets were made by Michael Ledoux and were puppeteered by Peter, David, AJ and Xander. Also puppeteering were Devon Chenoweth, Jennifer Zhang, Morgan Want, Scott Leverett, Kaela Berry and Gwendolyn Saltzman. Balloon Boy was a Tipster robot, with tape on him to more resemble Balloon Boy from the games. They casted Markiplier as the first night guard, who has worked with the duo before in videos as "My Date with Captain Falcon", "Resident Enis" and "How To Beat A Monkey At Chess: THE MUSICAL" with the last one also starring Matpat. As the new guard, they casted NateWantsToBattle who also has been videos with Random Encounters such as "Pokémon University: A Professor Song" and "Streetpass Love: A 3DS Song" After thinking Mark wouldn't return after Night 2, AJ wrote a completely different draft for Nights 4 and 5 with Night 4 having Nate and the animatronics go to Phone guy's house instead of Mark's. Mark then texts them and says "We're doing this right?", which led AJ to change the script to the final script we see shown.[10] For the physical appearance of Phone guy, they went with Matpat despite David already doing the voice which led to David dubbing in voice lines when Matt's face wasn't seen.
