Hannah Drakeford (born June 15, 1983) is a British designer and the founder of Hannah Drakeford Design, established in April 2020. Her brand focuses on interiors that feature bold, colorful, and geometric designs, catering primarily to first-time homeowners. Drakeford gained prominence as a contestant on BBC1's Interior Design Masters with Alan Carr, appearing in three consecutive and final episodes..[1]
Early life and education
[edit]Hannah Drakeford is based in Deptford, London. Her journey in design began by documenting the process of designing her own London apartment, which garnered her a social media following[2][3].
Design career

From 2017 to 2020, Drakeford served as the Creative Manager for Oasis Fashions. Her work includes the "To the Moon and Back" Christmas window scheme, which won "Best Christmas Windows in a Multiple" at the VM and Display Awards in 2019[4].
Transition to Interior Design
Drakeford's interest in interior design was influenced by her tenure at Forever 21, where she was encouraged to draw inspiration from various sources, including art, interior design, and architecture. After relocating to London in 2017 and purchasing her flat, she began developing her design style[5].
With support from Lewisham Council and Goldsmiths University, she launched her brand in 2020[6]. In 2021, she introduced a handmade cement homewares line, initially sold on Etsy and through boutique stores[7].
Style and impact
[edit]Drakeford's design aesthetic is characterized by a fusion of Memphis Design style, postmodernism, and Bauhaus influences. Her key inspirations include mid-century abstract art, particularly the works of Auguste Herbin; architecture styles emblematic of the Soviet Union, especially brutalist architecture; and 20th-century history. She believes that not confining herself to a single stylistic category enhances her creativity and effectiveness as a designer[8]
