Karin van der Laag was born in Johannesburg, South Africa on the 2nd August 1971. Karin van der Laag is a well-known actress^[1] ^[2]^[3]and celebrity ^[4]^[5]in South Africa. She is also a writer, script-supervisor and Casting Director.

Karin is best known for her role as Maggie Webster in the SABC 3 soap opera Isidingo. She starred alongside Richard E. Grant in the South African feature film: The Story of an African Farm which was later released in the USA as Bustin' Bonaparte. She featured in Cape Town a television series with Boris Kodjoe and Trond Espen Seim. The series was adapted from the award-winning Deon Meyer book.

Karin has acted in films such as Hoodlum and Son, Le Deux Mondes, Ayanda and the Mechanic, God is African and Real Estate Sisters. She has worked for numerous television and film companies including Netflix and the South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC). As Casting Director she has cast productions such as Isidingo, Sewende Laan, Getroud met Rugby, Poppie Nongena, Zoop in Afrika, She has written many episodes of 100 days to Succeed, a teen television series for SABC, for which she was also Head Editor and Script Supervisor.
