King Willonius (Willonius Hatcher) is an AI Storyteller[1], comedian and artist known for his innovative use of artificial intelligence in music production. He gained significant attention in 2024 with the release of the track "BBL Drizzy," which used AI-generated elements combined with comedic lyrics written by Willonius. His work and the track "BBL Drizzy" were featured in Time magazine, in their Time 100 AI 2024 feature, highlighting his role in pushing the boundaries of AI-driven music.
On May 13, 2024, King Willonius self-released his Udio-generated song "BBL Drizzy" after being inspired by a tweet by music artist Rick Ross — in which the rapper joked that Drake looks like he received a "Brazilian Butt Lift". “I think it’s a misconception that people think AI wrote ‘BBL Drizzy,’” Willonius told Billboard[2] in an interview about the track. “There’s no way AI could write lyrics like ‘I’m thicker than a Snicker and I got the best BBL in history,’” he adds, laughing.
Where the song initially began as a joke, Willonius found himself forever a part of cultural significance after hip-hop producer Metro Boomin sampled "BBL Drizzy" and released it as part of the Drake–Kendrick Lamar feud.
The song continued to have a life of its own after it was again sampled on Sexyy Red's single “U My Everything featuring Drake.” In doing so, Drake became the first artist to clear a sample for an AI-generated track[3].
