Lips Like Sugar is an upcoming neo-noir film directed by Brantley Gutierrez and written by Anthony Tambakis. The film is set during the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles, and stars Owen Wilson, Woody Harrelson, Juliette Lewis, Sasha Calle, Kathryn Newton, Erin Moriarty, and Tony Cavalero.
Premise
[edit]Homicide detectives John Carr and Phil Harris attempt to solve a serial killer case despite Los Angeles city officials preference for all murders being labeled as Missing Persons cases whilst the Olympic Games is hosted by the city.[1]

Production
[edit]In July 2023, it was announced that Brantley Gutierrez would direct Lips Like Sugar, from a screenplay written by Anthony Tambakis. Woody Harrelson and Owen Wilson were set to star.[2] In March 2024, Juliette Lewis, Sasha Calle, Kathryn Newton, Erin Moriarty, and Tony Cavalero joined the cast.[3][4]
Will Butler is composing the score for the film.[5]
Filming was scheduled to start in Los Angeles in April 2024.[4]
