Nabil Fayyad 1955 - August 21, 2022 was a Syrian secular writer and critic. A fierce critic of movements with an Islamist affiliation. He was a supporter of the 2011 Syrian protests at their beginning. He holds a pharmacy degree from Damascus University.

He was born to a Sunni Muslim family in Al-Qaryatayn, Homs Governorate. He was arrested in October 2004 and released after 33 days.[1]


He died on August 21, 2022 after suffering from a terminal illness.
