His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa (Arabic: محمد بن سلمان بن حمد آل خليفة; born in 11 November 1991) is a member of the Bahraini royal family. His Grandfather is the King of Bahrain, Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. His Father is the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Bahrain, His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa[1]. He is sixth in the line of succession to the Bahraini throne.
Early Life and Education
[edit]His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Salman Al Khalifa is the second son to HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa and his former wife Sheikha Hala bint Duaij Al Khalifa[2][3]. He was born in 11 November 1991.
He received his primary education in Ibn Khuldoon National School[4]. He finished his high school education at the American School in Bahrain in 2009. Then graduated from the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst in 15 April 2011 in the United Kingdom, where he was awarded with Prince Saud Bin Abdullah’s Prize for Academic Excellence and the Communication and Applied Behavioral Science Prize.[5]
His Highness graduated from King’s College London and obtained a Bachelor’s degree with honours in War Studies in 20 July 2015.[6]
Personal Life
[edit]His Highness married in 22 March 2017. He has two children.[7][8]
Political and Military Career
[edit]He was appointed by the King of Bahrain to the rank of Second Lieutenant in the Bahrain Defence Force on April 15, 2011. He was then promoted to the rank of first lieutenant on May 9, 2015 and was awarded the Order of Magnanimity.[6] In 2019, he reached the rank of Captain.[9][10]
