RAJU BHAND is a village from Tehsil kharian of Zilla Gujrat. Raju Bhand is mistakenly called by its twin village Noor Jamal Shamali. The village includes mostly Gujjar caste with sub caste as Khatana mainly and some lesser known are the Chechi caste and other small ones. The Gujjar people of the village are given a name historically which is Bhand which means is to be aggressive and known for causing troubles and fights to often due to high temper which came from the elder. The village Raju Bhand is named for the person who came from Chanan a village near by whom is his father and he came here and took land by force from the people living there known as Noor Jamalia consisting of Gujjar Dogga’s and Mian’s. Raju Bhand had three sons one is known as Hakeem who hai mostly daughters and the generations after him had mostly daughters so they called on other people by giving them land to be with them support them with their larger enemy from the second son of Raju Bhand’s Braham; his sons due to there large growth and more men power. Second son was Braham who’s sons make up the most in Raju Bhand for population. The third son was Sikander who after two generation had only daughters and she was married near by given land to her and her sons used her father’s name to call it a village Fatah Bhand. Raju Bhand’s forefathers came from Kamla Bhand who is also his forefather and mainly the Darbar there is of his father Jago Shaheed.
