Revel Bard Southwell (born June 18th, 1998) is an American professional wrestler and entertainer currently signed with 814 Wrestling. Southwell is best known for his time in All or Nothing (AON) Wrestling , Phoenix Pro Wrestling, and Eclipse Wrestling. He has also made appearances for All Elite Wrestling (AEW) and Ring of Honor (ROH) Wrestling as of 2023.

Early Life[edit]

Son of Richard Duane Southwell Jr. and Ramona Marie Southwell , Revel grew up in Altoona, Pennsylvania. Attending Bellwood-Antis School District, Southwell found himself at a young age developing a strong interest in art, music, and acting. Through middle and high school, Southwell took part in student congress, forensics (speech) league, and musical theatre. Through his learned ability of playing the trumpet, he taught himself how to play the piano at the age of 13, styling his piano playing style after the likes of Sir Elton John. Playing many parts in school-based shows, Southwell appeared as radio-hosting 'Bert Healy' in "Annie", & starred in the 2015 production of "The Music Man" as 'Professor Harold Hill'.

Through his love of theatrics, at the age of 11, Southwell began to take an interest in professional wrestling. Marveled by the idea that the characters he had seen on TV were actually real people, an obsession developed with wrestling that overtook Southwell's spare time. In 2011, he sent a message to All or Nothing (AON) Wrestling based in Johnstown, PA asking if he could get in a real wrestling ring. Denied due to his status as a minor, Southwell was told to message the company back upon turning 18 years of age. In the years that followed through middle and high school, Southwell's goal report consistently read : "become a WWE wrestler".

Wrestling Career[edit]

After graduating high-school as senior class president in 2016, Southwell pursued his goal of becoming a professional wrestler. Reaching out to the then- running Phoenix-Pro Wrestling in Altoona, he was able to arrive at a show- meeting 'Primetime' Todd Taylor in September of 2016, who agreed to train him. Training before shows each month, Southwell gained experience in the wrestling business regarding ring crew, time keeping, and the typical "ins and outs" of what makes a wrestling show come together.

Earning his way to wresting a few battle-royals under the alias 'Tony Taylor', he made his debut under his legal name (Revel Southwell) on an episode of Phoenix Pro Wrestling in November of 2018 at "The Building II" in Altoona,- taking a powerbomb from Randall Fairway leading up to the 2018 Resurrection Rumble. Southwell lasted until the final four of the rumble, being eliminated last by Fairway, who won the match. Southwell then had his first singles match for Phoenix Pro Wrestling on January 5th, 2019 in a losing battle against foe, Randall Fairway. Due to outer-employment scheduling conflicts, we did not see him in a Phoenix ring again.

It was eight months before he returned to the ring, debuting for the returning All or Nothing (AON) Wrestling on August 24th, 2019 in a singles contest against the 7 foot-tall Jack Massacre. This show took place in the firehall in Northern Cambria, Pennsylvania. He competed against Massacre again at the following show, before participating in an impromptu match against his trainer Todd Taylor in November of 2019. Suffering yet another tough loss in his singles career, later in the night Southwell would eliminate the 'Man-Child' with a dropkick over the top rope, winning the 2019 AON Wrestling battle royal.

Coming into the Covid-19 pandemic which onset in early 2020, Wrestling shows became scarce across the world. This led to an outdoor event held at Lakemont Park in Altoona, PA in September of 2020. AON's "War for Territory" saw Southwell team for the first time with local BJJ/MMA fighter Charlie Gathers, against the Freekshow's 'Man-Child' and 'Crazy Shea', where Southwell and Gathers emerged victorious via pinfall. Southwell later competed in another tag team contest, teaming with Gathers against the Man-Child and his partner Israel Sharif Parkour (ISP). This was held in Altoona, in a closed taping with no audience present. Southwell and Gathers were victorious yet again. In March of 2021, a one on one match took place with wrestler 'Cizzko', where Southwell won via pinfall after a big boot following a five minute bout. Following the contest, Southwell attacked referee Kaci Dillon with a vicious clothesline, causing him to be suspended from the company until further notice.

April 10th 2021, Southwell's suspension was lifted, wrestling in singles competition against the Freekshow's Man-Child at Peoples Natural Gas Park in Johnstown, Pennsylvania. Attacking the Man-Child and referee, Kaci Dillon, with a steel chair during the match, he suffered a choke-slam from the veteran ref (with the aide of Man-Child), counting Southwell down for his first loss in the ring since November 2019.

A challenge was then set for Southwell to face off against the Man-Child once again, this time in a steel chairs match- June 19th, 2021. This event was held in the Johnstown Galleria Mall, and made front-page of the local newspapers. A large crowd watched this match with widened eyes, as the two went toe to toe for ten minutes before the Man-Child was sent crashing through a tower of steel chairs, awarding the pinfall victory to Southwell. "War 4 Territory" in September of 2021 would see Revel Southwell take on (ROH) Ring of Honor's Rev. Ron Hunt in a one on one encounter. Southwell failed to reign victorious at this event following a tombstone piledriver delivered by Hunt.[1]

On October 3rd 2021, Southwell made his debut for Eclipse Wrestling in Altoona, Pennsylvania -wrestling a six man tag team match with partners 'The Static Age' (River the Sickopath and Madd Maxx Morrison) , to take on ROH's Rev. Ron Hunt, and his teammates, 'Jesus Club' (AJ Alexander and Curtis Ray Goddi). Southwell's team left this event the victors. Back in Northern Cambria for November of 2021, the card for AON Wrestling read "WWE's Doink the Clown vs. Revel Southwell". In what was the biggest win of Southwell's career up to this point, he defeated the WWE Hall of Fame character in a classic display- sparing nobody in his quest to establish his dreams as reality. He entered, and was eliminated from the inaugural 2021 Dealer's Choice Battle Royal in December of 2021.

Over the following year, we only saw Southwell compete in one singles contest, failing to gain pinfall over wrestler Tad Jarvis at an after-game show hosted by People's Natural Gas Field in Altoona, PA on July 3rd, 2022.[2] The final time we saw Southwell compete in a ring was December of this year, appearing in the 2022 Dealer's Choice Battle Royal prior to taking a nine month-long hiatus from the wrestling industry.

On September 16th, 2023, Southwell got the phone call to appear on an episode of All Elite Wrestling (AEW) Collision as a hired security guard, - stepping in after a match featuring former TNT Champion Scorpio Sky and WWE Wrestler Andrade El Idolo. It was this same night he appeared on a taping for Ring of Honor (ROH) Wrestling, filling in as one of Dalton Castle’s “boys” during a match featuring AEW star Nick Wayne and Japanese wrestler, Katsuyori Shibata. Behind the scenes, Southwell began training for his own return to wrestling competition.

February 3rd 2024, the newly formed company of ‘814 Wrestling’ would produce a show titled ‘Critical Mass’ for wrestling fans at the Johnstown Galleria Mall. Revel Southwell made his return to wrestling on this night in a tag team contest – partnering with rookie Jesse Lawland to take on the up and coming ‘New Glory’ (Hunter Hoffman and Tony Onyx). Lawland refused to tag in, costing Southwell the win in this one on two competition. Southwell then unleashed a beating on Lawland outside the ring, tossing him backstage following the short match.
