SMITE 2 is the highly anticipated sequel to the popular third-person action MOBA, SMITE, developed by Titan Forge Games. Announced as the next generation at the SMITE World Championships on 12 January 2024, SMITE 2 is built from the ground up using Unreal Engine 5, for various platforms, including Steam, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and the Epic Games Store. The game builds on a decade of feedback with everything that players cherish about SMITE while delivering state-of-the-art visuals, refined animations, and an enhanced user interface. With a focus on evolution rather than revolution, SMITE 2 introduces novel gameplay mechanics, new pantheons, diversified character abilities through the introduction of dual power sources (Strength and Intelligence), and a revamped Relic and Item system, fostering deeper strategic engagement and more impactful combat scenarios.[3][4]

Divine Legacy and Legacy Gems[edit]

In order to respect the 40 million SMITE players, SMITE 2 has introduced the Divine Legacy program and Legacy Gems systems to reward players' dedication and investment over the past decade. Players' previous spending will be recognized through the conversion of spent gems into Legacy Gems in SMITE 2, redeemable for new purchases. While Divine Legacy allows players to unlock additional reward skins in SMITE 2 by playing SMITE.[5]
