Trovador Ramos Sr. (born October 14, 1935) is a Filipino martial artist, actor, musician, and the founder of the TRACMA (Trovador Ramos Asian Consolidated Martial Arts). He is known for his contributions to the martial arts community in the Philippines and for his work in promoting Filipino martial arts both locally and internationally.
Life
[edit]Trovador Ramos Sr. was born on October 14, 1935 in San Antonio, Zambales, Philippines.
He was raised by his parents named Herminio Ramos Sr. and Jacinta Ramos who were both musicians.
Trovador had 11 siblings (including 1 half-sister) and him and his 9 siblings were musicians, but 2 of his siblings died when one of them was sick & childbirth.
His religion was non-religilous because his parents were former aglipayan. Until when a religion called Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) or INC arrived in Zambales and His father, Herminio gave one of the land of his wife to INC to build a church. Trovador was then baptized when he was 13 years old (1948).
Occupation and Martial Arts
[edit]Ramos worked with several actors including, Paquito Diaz, Ramon Zamora, Charlie Davao, Max Alvarado, Pilar Pilapil, Romy Diaz, Gina Pareño and Rey Malonzo. He married Eufemia Agaton and they had 6 kids (including Trovador Ramos Jr.).In 1957, he founded IRCJK (International Real Combat Judo Karate) otherwise known as TRACMA. in 1973, he went to Hong Kong and worked as a musician, when he was in Hong Kong that time, he met Bruce Lee. They had dinner with Lee's friends, But one of Bruce Lee's friends named Unicorn Chan told Lee about Ramos that he is a martial artist. Bruce Lee then invited Trovador to a fight in the gym but Trovador refused because he respect Bruce Lee, but Lee insisted.Trovador agreed then when the fight started, Trovador defeated Bruce Lee then he stops the fight.After a while, Bruce Lee and Trovador Ramos became friends.After that, Bruce Lee contacted Trovador and asked if he would like to be in his Movie called Enter The Dragon,when Ramos found out he will be a villain, he declined it.A few months later, Bruce Lee contacted Trovador again and asked him if he could be a main character in his new movie called The Rhythm Man and the Dragon except Bruce Lee died on July 20, 1973.
Career
[edit]Ramos Sr. has trained in various disciplines and developed his own martial arts system, TRACMA, which blends traditional Filipino martial arts with other combat techniques. He has also appeared in films and television shows, showcasing his martial arts skills and promoting the Filipino martial arts heritage.
