UNSINKABLE: Titanic Untold is an American docudrama film directed by Cody Hartman and written and produced by Brian Hartman. Based on actual testimony in the United States Senate inquiry immediately following the Titanic disaster in 1912. The film details the story of Senator William Alden Smith, played by Cotter Smith, and his hastily convened inquiry to learn the truth about what happened on April 14, 1912, when the Titanic hit an iceberg. Smith is flanked by co-star Karen Allen who plays the Senator's wife, and Jayne Wisener, who portrays his assistant. The film is set for theatrical release on April 12, 2024.
This is the first work collaboration the father-son duo of Brian and Cody Hartman, producer and director.[1]
Plot
[edit]On the night of April 14, 1912, the most famous ship in history, the RMS Titanic struck an iceberg. Within three hours she succumbed to her damage and one of history's most intriguing mysteries was born. The tales of greed, arrogance, conspiracy, heroism, and romance, have captivated the world for over a century. What has been largely untold are the days immediately following the disaster. UNSINKABLE: Titanic Untold is a live-action, incredible true story of the rushed investigation, political interference, corporate accountability, and the heart-wrenching personal moments of the disaster itself. With fascinating testimony, back-alley investigation led by investigative reporter, Alaine Richard played by Fiona Diourif, and riveting flashbacks to that fateful night, UNSINKABLE shines a light on why the Titanic disaster has endured for over 100 years.
