Vladislav Alekseyevich Gromov (born 02.03.1974, Tyumen, RSFSR, USSR) is a Tyumen ice hockey player, forward who played professionally for various clubs from 1990 to 2008. He made his professional debut at the age of 17 at Tyumen's "Rubin".

Biography[edit]

Childhood and youth[edit]

Vladislav was born into the family of Alexey Gromov, a civil aviation pilot. He was the second, youngest child in the family. Vladislav spent his childhood and youth in Tyumen, where he started playing hockey. The boy quickly learned to skate, and at the age of five, trying to keep up with his older brother Eduard, started playing hockey. As his passion grew more and more serious, at the age of 8 Vladislav began to train at the sports school of the club "Rubin". At the age of 17, still being a high-scooler, he started playing for the professional team of "Rubin". Nevertheless, the young sportsman had time to study well, and graduated with a silver medal. After that, he entered the Faculty of Physical Education and Sports of Tyumen State University.

After the end of the professional career[edit]

After the end of his professional career, Vladislav Gromov remains in the world of sport. For example, since 2018, he has been the head of the sports department of one of the structures of PJSC "Gazprom". In addition, as an experienced hockey player and a former "SKA" player, Vladislav appears on TV as an expert reviewing KHL matches. Moreover, Vladislav is a coach of one of St. Petersburg's night league teams, and he continues to regularly play hockey himself, now as an amateur. He devotes most of his time to hockey.

Vladislav Gromov was officially recognized as one of key hockey players who influenced the development of Tyumen's hockey.[1]
