Entries should be written from a neutral point of view, and should refer to a range of independent, reliable, published sources. Please rewrite your submission in a more encyclopedic format. Submission declined on 26 March 2024 by Greenman (talk). This submission appears to read more like an advertisement than an entry in an encyclopedia. Encyclopedia articles need to be written from a neutral point of view, and should refer to a range of independent, reliable, published sources, not just to materials produced by the creator of the subject being discussed. This is important so that the article can meet Wikipedia's verifiability policy and the notability of the subject can be established. If you still feel that this subject is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia, please rewrite your submission to comply with these policies. Declined by Greenman 7 months ago. |

WaveTiles is a Greek couch co-op puzzle platformer game, developed and published by WhoCares Games, exclusively designed for two players. The game was released on Steam at August 13 2021.[1] for Windows. The level-based game revolves around the puzzle-platformer genre. As a core mechanic, players utilize colored energy waves to activate corresponding tiles, creating paths to navigate through each level.
Gameplay
[edit]There are two unique characters in the game: the Explorer and the Spirit. The goal of each level is for the Explorer to reach the end of the platforms without falling into the void. The Spirit has a supportive/enabling role, trying to make sure that the Explorer is able to step on the necessary tiles in order to finish the level[2]. As the levels progress, features such as traps, power-ups, special or moving tiles and more start appearing, testing the players' individual skill and communication[3]
Development
[edit]Background
[edit]The game's initial concept was developed during the Global Game Jam in 2017. Christos "Xrs" Karpousis, Stratos Giannatsis, Yiannis Tzavaras, and Spyros Ntokas, formed a small team to participate in the event which led to the creation of the WaveTiles prototype[4]
Funding
[edit]The project was funded through a Kickstarter campaign. Running from April 17 2021, to May 17 2021, the campaign successfully garnered the targeted funding over the 30-day period[5]
