Improving page
[edit]I've added more references to this draft. Katherine Heiny has had articles written about her by The Guardian, The Washington Post, The New York Times and the Independent, as well as numerous reviews. Please let me know if there's anything more I can do. Blackballnz (talk) 05:45, 8 September 2024 (UTC)
- Thanks for your work on this article! What convinced me to accept it through AfC was being able to find, though my own research, that several of her books had 2+ reviews. Multiple WP:NBOOK-notable books support a WP:NAUTHOR-notable bio, and notability is typically what AfC is looking for; if you're writing similar articles in future, you can speed up the AfC process by putting multiple high-quality book reviews in the article.
- To continue improving this article, I think it would be great if each of the books had a little paragraph giving more of a detailed plot summary (especially describing the ending, if you can find it out!). It is also usually better to summarize book reviews rather than quote them, and to focus on descriptions rather than praise. For example, in this NYT review of Standard Deviation I notice that they say the book is "Told in the third person but heavily mediated by Graham’s consciousness" so the article could note that is is third person subjective or uses free indirect discourse. There's also some good stuff in this review about the structure and tone of the novel. I suggest those edits because you asked, and because it's always possible for an article to get even better! Thanks again for your contributions here. ~ L 🌸 (talk) 01:36, 9 September 2024 (UTC)
- Thank you so much! I'm thrilled that it's been accepted. I'm happy to keep working and fill in the details that you suggest. Blackballnz (talk) 06:14, 9 September 2024 (UTC)
