Eden Gerick is a fictional character from the American soap opera The Young and the Restless, portrayed by American actress Vanessa Marano who took over the role on December 3, 2008. The role was previously portrayed by Erin Sanders from August 19, 2008 to November 19, 2008.
Character's background
Eden was first seen in the background, speaking with her father, River Baldwin (Michael Gross), the morning after the ashram wedding in Malibu, California, on August 19, 2008. She was next seen as the young woman in the background at the diner where River Baldwin appeared before he was taken into police custody, on September 17, 2008, and again on September 19, 2008. She then turned up at Michael Baldwin's (Christian LeBlanc) door on September 22, 2008, blaming him for River's being taken into custody and revealing herself as his sister. It was revealed that River had been taking care of her and, with River in jail, Michael was appointed her guardian. Eden didn't make it easy for Michael, as she always yelled and ran around doing things she was not supposed to do. She was dumbfounded when she learned that her father was accused of murder.
Eden had been developing a relationship with Noah Newman (Kevin Schmidt), but her attitude constantly got in their way. While on a class trip in Paris, the couple got closer, but Noah ended up arrested after a fight with criminals at a cemetery, which prompted his mother, Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) to forbid Noah from seeing Eden, though the two still saw each other secretly. Later, the two lied to Michael and Phyllis Summers Newman (Michelle Stafford) about a school function and went to a lake to go ice skating. Noah ended up falling into the ice. Eden went to get help, then Noah was rushed to the hospital after Brad Carlton (Don Diamont) sacrificed his life to save Noah. As a result of this incident, Eden blamed herself for Brad's death and also became the enemy of Abby Carlton (Hayley Erin).She has recently lost her virginity to Noah, but they were both caught by Noah's father Nicholas Newman and step-mother Phyllis Newman. She is apparently still dating him.
