Edward David Burt (born c. 1979) is the Premier of Bermuda and leader of the Progressive Labour Party (PLP).[3] His mother, Merlin, is from Jamaica, while his father, Gerald, is Bermudian.[4] Burt is Bermuda's youngest ever premier, having taken office at the age of 38.[5]

Personal life

Burt attended the George Washington University in Washington, D.C., double majoring in finance and information systems and attaining a master's degree in information systems development.[2] During his time at GW, he served as president of the George Washington University Student Association.[2]
