Ely Dagher is a Lebanese director, screenwriter and artist known for his short film Waves '98.

Early years

Ely Dagher was born in 1985, in Beirut, Lebanon.[citation needed] He received a Masters of Arts in contemporary art theory and new media from Goldsmiths College, London University.[citation needed] Previously he had received a Bachelors in graphic arts and illustration as well as a Bachelors in animation at the Academie Libanaise Des Beaux Arts in Lebanon.[1]

Career

His film Waves '98 won the Short Film Palme d'Or at the 2015 Cannes Film Festival,[2][3] becoming the first Lebanese film to ever receive the award.[4]
