Copyright question
[edit]User:SCEhardt has disputed the PD status of this image. It was published ca. 1912 by Shipler Commercial Photographers of SLC, UT and is clearly expired copyright = PD. See [1] for details. Pete Tillman (talk) 22:59, 9 July 2008 (UTC)
- See discussion at Wikipedia:Possibly_unfree_images/2008_July_9#Image:BikeBoys.jpg for resolution. Pete Tillman (talk) 02:49, 11 July 2008 (UTC)
Fair Use Rationale
[edit]User:Future Perfect at Sunrise deleted the standard FUR for Fair Us of a historic photo, commenting ("Historic fur" boilerplate patently inappliccable.) Please explain why you feel this FUR isn't applicable. --Pete Tillman (talk) 22:23, 16 August 2008 (UTC)
- Just read it. It doesn't appropriately describe what this image is and does. The whole thing of having a "standard" FUR is a bad misunderstanding. There's nothing "standard" about it. The whole idea of having FURs is that they should be individual. Please add a rationale explaining, in your own words, why you think this image in this article meets the requirements of legal fair use and WP:NFCC. Fut.Perf. ☼ 09:14, 17 August 2008 (UTC)
