This soldier is not a confederate. If you look closely at his uniform you will clearly see 'U S' markings. He was a union soldier. May he rest in peace and not be misrepresented on wikipedia. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.112.153.187 (talkcontribs) 03:05, December 26, 2010

In brief: we don't know whether he was wearing a Union belt buckle because he was Union, or because he looted it. I've renamed the file to avoid having this problem recur. DS (talk) 17:27, 24 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
