Headshot vs bodyshot[edit]

I think a headshot of the character would be better as it'd be less blurry – and also come from an official source – as well as be consistent with Clementine's article which also uses a headshot. @Kung Fu Man: TheCelebrinator (talk) 12:52, 30 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not sure why you think that's fan art: that's the guy who design Lee and his character model, Steve Moore. As for Clementine's her article is also going to get a full body artwork at some point.--Kung Fu Man (talk) 12:56, 30 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
It's still from an unofficial source. It's not from the actual game itself but merely concept art of it. Besides, it looks significantly more blurry than the headshot. Our goal should be to use the most common or recognizable image of the subject – and Lee is mostly seen in cutscenes with the camera centered on his head, not full body.
I mentioned Clementine for the sake of consistency. Same thing applies there. TheCelebrinator (talk) 12:59, 30 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
We often use key art, promotional renders and similar in articles. And trying to argue that his face is "the most common or recognizable image of the subject" is...really bizarre?.--Kung Fu Man (talk) 13:04, 30 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
It's not at all bizarre. TWD is an interactive game where most of the game and story take place during cutscenes where, as such, most of the time, Lee is seen and shown 'chest-up' without his full body being shown. TWD Wiki uses a headshot for its characters precisely for that reason, so it's not at all 'bizarre' as you suggest.
P.S. I'd actually be OK with a full bodyshot if the render was better. The hands specifically look hastily done. I'm no photoshop wizard but there's something uncanny about them. If we have to use a full bodyshot, it'd have to fix that. TheCelebrinator (talk) 13:12, 30 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I don't see how the image is fanmade but full body shots are better to put than faces in order to make the entire design stand out to the reader. That's the same reason why most Mortal Kombat characters had their topbody images replaced with the entire body. Imagine Cloud Strife being illustrated used without his iconic trademark Buster Sword which is big it covers most of his body.Tintor2 (talk) 17:14, 30 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
This is different. Cloud Strife belongs to a different genre of games that isn't at all comparable to TWD. Afaik, neither Lee nor Clementine are notable for their swords, either. TheCelebrinator (talk) 19:30, 30 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
The Clementine article's image is not great either, let's be real. If you want consistency, I'd recommend just getting a better image for her. - Cukie Gherkin (talk) 18:56, 30 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I think putting a more recent image of Clementine would be better. Ideally from Season 4 or thereabouts. TheCelebrinator (talk) 19:31, 30 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
