Grimmie herself announced the album on her Youtube Channel on May 5 in Los Angeles, where she still doing post-recording work on the album.[1] After the announcement, she continually referred to the release date of the album at the beginning of videos and in their descriptions after the announcement.[5][6][7]
She also promoted the album with the pricing of her album at $5.99 in the US iTunes Store.[8] This made many fans of her music exclaim that her album was worth a lot more than the offered price.
