Foster Township is a township in Big Stone County, Minnesota, United States. The population was 123 as of the 2000 census.[3]
Geography
According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 33.2 square miles (86 km2), of which 30.1 square miles (78 km2) is land and 3.1 square miles (8.0 km2) (9.43%) is water.

Demographics
As of the census[1] of 2000, there were 123 people, 57 households, and 42 families residing in the township. The population density was 4.1 people per square mile (1.6/km²). There were 169 housing units at an average density of 5.6/sq mi (2.2/km²). The racial makeup of the township was 98.37% White and 1.63% Asian.
There were 57 households out of which 15.8% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 70.2% were married couples living together, and 26.3% were non-families. 24.6% of all households were made up of individuals and 7.0% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.16 and the average family size was 2.50.
In the township the population was spread out with 15.4% under the age of 18, 5.7% from 18 to 24, 15.4% from 25 to 44, 40.7% from 45 to 64, and 22.8% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 52 years. For every 100 females there were 141.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 126.1 males.
The median income for a household in the township was $31,875, and the median income for a family was $41,250. Males had a median income of $22,500 versus $22,083 for females. The per capita income for the township was $16,178. There were 17.5% of families and 18.4% of the population living below the poverty line, including 19.0% of under eighteens and none of those over 64.
