Gahunje is a village in India. It is situated in Mawal taluka[1] of Pune District in the state of Maharashtra.[2][3] It is situated on the northwestern border of Pimpri-Chinchwad midway between Pune and Lonavala. It is rapidly emerging as an ideal location for working people in and around PCMC, Hinjawadi and those looking for a quick gateway to the Sahyadris.[citation needed] MCA cricket stadium and Symbiosis Skills and Open University dot the landscape of Gahunje. Many Mumbaikars are choosing Gahunje than Lonavala as their weekend destination given its proximity to both Pune and Mumbai. Those frequently travelling to and from Mumbai airport find it convenient as compared to travelling from the eastern suburbs of Pune.[citation needed] The proposed Pune Ring Road is planned to pass at a short distance from Gahunje.[citation needed]
Administration
The village is administrated by a Sarpanch who is an elected representative of village as per constitution of India and Panchayati raj (India).
