[edit]

Gastón Charles Raphaël Julien Lelarge was born on October 12, 1816, in the town of Rouen, France, son of the Norman painter Raphaël Lelarge. Later he would be the winner of a competition to build the Marble Palace in Tehran, for which he lived in Iran for some time.[4][5]
