Girli
Milly Toomey (born 6 December 1997)[1] better known by the stage name Girli (stylised as GIRLI) is an English singer, songwriter and rapper based in London.[2][3][4]
She has released a number of singles and EPs, that The Guardian described as veering "between PC Music, bubblegum pop, punk and rap, each one treading a line between catchy and deliberately discomforting."[3] Her style is to dress all in pink.
Life and career
Girli is from north west London.[5][6][7] She was born in 1997[8] and went to school in north London and to the East London Arts & Music college in Stratford, east London, which she graduated from in 2016.[2][9]
Girli performs with DJ Kitty (Rosalie Sylvia Fountain).[10] In 2016 Girli toured the UK throughout September and October supporting musician Oscar.[11][12] She took part in stylist Louby McLoughlin's project OKgrl, a fashion and music platform, and Kirsti-Nicole Hadley's GRL PWR, a female-only arts collective.[5]
In 2017 she toured with Declan McKenna around the UK and performed at Latitude Festival.[13] She also had her own headline UK tour, the Hot Mess Tour, in support of an EP of the same name which showed elements of pop-punk.
