Hailsham Community College is a coeducational all-through school and sixth form with academy status, located in Hailsham, East Sussex, England. There are currently around 1160 pupils at HCC.[1] Hailsham Community College has five buildings, a main block, science block, craft block and sixth form block, as well as an extensive sports hall and astro turf. The sports hall is a million pound lottery-funded building which was built in 2006.[2] The school is split into five different houses: Simmonds, Farah, Ennis, Wiggins and Murray. The school's board of supervisors are considering changing these into mascots instead of just houses based upon Sports performers.

The college has a pathway system in which select students are able to take their GCSE exams a year early.

In 2006 HCC was awarded the Sportsmark standard for its work in PE and within the wider community.[citation needed] In June 2007 it gained the Healthy Schools Gold standard, in recognition of its work to raise the health and wellbeing of the students.[3]

The college became an academy on 1 August 2012.[4]

In January 2015, a 14-year-old female student injured a teacher with a knife as the teacher detained her. She was arrested by Sussex police on suspicion of affray and possession of a knife.[5]

Previously a secondary school, in September 2019 Hailsham Community College opened a primary school department and so is now an all-through school.[6]
