Harold R. "Harry" Steele, CM born in Musgrave Harbour, NL, is the chairman and majority shareholder in Newcap Radio and subsidiary Newcap Broadcasting.

Steele, a former navy officer of 24 years, began working as vice-president of marketing for Eastern Provincial Airways and took control of the airline in the mid 1970s. In 1972 he started Newfoundland Capital Corporation. Steele has been its president since the company’s inception, and in May 1993 became chairman and chief executive officer. Steele stepped down as CEO on May 1, 2002 and continues in his role as chairman of the board.

Steele is a past governor of the Atlantic Provinces Economic Council, and became an Officer of the Order of Canada in 1992.
