Hebron is a town in Wicomico County, Maryland, United States. The population was 807 at the 2000 census. It is included in the Salisbury, Maryland Metropolitan Statistical Area. It is the hometown of pro wrestler Mark Hildreth.

Demographics

As of the censusTemplate:GR of 2000, there were 807 people, 299 households, and 229 families residing in the town. The population density was 1,965.9 people per square mile (760.0/km²). There were 325 housing units at an average density of 791.7 per square mile (306.1/km²). The racial makeup of the town was 86.12% White, 11.65% African American, 0.12% Native American, 0.50% Asian, 0.62% from other races, and 0.99% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.62% of the population.

There were 299 households out of which 40.8% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 55.9% were married couples living together, 16.4% had a female householder with no husband present, and 23.1% were non-families. 18.7% of all households were made up of individuals and 7.4% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.70 and the average family size was 3.01.

In the town the population was spread out with 30.5% under the age of 18, 8.4% from 18 to 24, 30.4% from 25 to 44, 20.1% from 45 to 64, and 10.7% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 32 years. For every 100 females there were 95.4 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 85.1 males.

The median income for a household in the town was $36,750, and the median income for a family was $40,694. Males had a median income of $30,500 versus $18,068 for females.
