Himno Al Trabajo (English Translation: Hymn to Labor/ Filipino Translation: Dalit sa Paggawa) is a poem written by Dr. José Rizal. The said poem was requested by his friends from Lipa, Batangas in January 1888 because of the existing Becerra Law, and to rejoice the hardships of Lipenos. [1]

Dedicated to Lipenos[edit]

The hymn was basically a poem praising Lipenos, who are working hard for the country. The poem is composed of conversation by men, maidens, wives and children that praises men who are making a living in the farm and agriculture. The song also states that agriculture is the solution towards the poverty and the road to progress.
