History
Founding
iMakr was established in April 2013 with the opening of its first store on Clerkenwell Road, London.[2]
Expansion
Following the success of its first London store, the company opened a second flagship store in Manhattan in June 2014.[3]
MyMiniFactory
In June 2013, iMakr launched MyMiniFactory,[4] a website dedicated to the free sharing of 3D printable files.
Services
In addition to selling best-in-class 3D printers and 3D printing related products, iMakr operates a 3D scanning service and prints full colour figurines of their customers.[5][6] They have also used 3D scanning to offer their customers 3D printed candles, in partnership with French department store le Bon Marché.[7] and chocolates in partnership with Rococo Chocolates.[8] Other services provided by iMakr include print on demand, consulting and weekly free 3D printing training sessions. iMakr also participates regularly in prominent events and exhibitions where it demonstrates 3D Printing in an effort to help people understand what this technology can do for them.
