iShares Russell 2000 Index Fund (NYSE ArcaIWM) is an exchange-traded fund of US stocks that tracks the Russell 2000 index, in the iShares ETF family.

IWM is used by day traders and investors alike to gain access to the small-cap segment of US stocks. It is highly liquid. As of August 2012, it is the second most actively traded exchange-traded product in the world.[1]

Competition

iShares Russell 2000 is the largest small-cap ETF. Another fund is iShares Core S&P Small-Cap ETF.[2][3]
