The Indian Police Foundation and Institute is a New Delhi based research organization, related to policing. It aims at improving policing by bringing a culture of evidence–based policing in India. It seeks to bring together working and retired police officers, academics and citizens etc. It has two divisions, namely-

  • (i) The Indian Police Foundation (IPF), a think-tank for policy advocacy and research.
  • (ii) The Indian Police Institute (IPI), a professional institute for research and training.

Prakash Singh, a former IPS officer and a crusader of Indian police reforms, is the Chairman of the Police Foundation and Institute. Indian Police Foundation and Institute was inagurated on 21 Oct, 2015 by United Home Minister Rajnath Singh.[1][2]

On 14 Dec, 2015, it entered into an association with Gujarat Forensic Sciences University, Gandhinagar (which is the world's first university solely dedicated to Forensic & Investigative Science).[3][4]
