The International Alliance for Responsible Drinking (IARD),[1] headquartered in Washington D.C., is a not-for-profit organization formed to address the global public health issue of harmful drinking. It is sponsored by the world’s leading beer, wine, and spirits producers. These include Anheuser-Busch InBev, Asahi Group Holdings, Ltd., Bacardi Limited, Beam Suntory, Brown-Forman Corporation, Carlsberg, Diageo, Heineken, Kirin Holdings Company, Limited, Molson Coors, Pernod Ricard, and SABMiller.[2] Together, the 12 CEO signatories and their companies are part of the Producers' Commitment to reduce harmful drinking.[3]

History

The International Alliance for Responsible Drinking was established on October 15, 2014 through a merger of two existing organizations, the International Center for Alcohol Policies (ICAP) and the Global Alcohol Producers Group (GAPG).[4]
