Stephanie Italia Ricci[1] (Italian pronunciation: [iˈtaːlja ˈrittʃi]; born October 29, 1986) is a Canadian actress best known for playing April Carver in the ABC Family series Chasing Life. She also co-starred as Maggie Winnock in the Cartoon Network live-action series Unnatural History and had a recurring role as Sasha in the Comedy Central series Secret Girlfriend.
Career
Ricci made her major acting debut in 2007, in the American Pie direct-to-video film, Beta House.[2] She then went on to have a recurring role on the Disney XD series Aaron Stone. Ricci also appeared in the music video "Hate" by Plain White T's as the ex-girlfriend.
During 2009, she began appearing in American productions with minor roles in How I Met Your Mother, House and Greek. During that same year she had a recurring role in the Comedy Central series Secret Girlfriend as Sasha. In 2010, she co-starred in the Cartoon Network live-action series Unnatural History as Maggie Winnock. She also appeared in Clean & Clear commercial as herself. In 2011, she appeared in the short film Valediction.
In 2013, she appeared in a small role in Joseph Gordon-Levitt's directorial debut film Don Jon. Also in 2013, she was cast in the lead role of April Carver in the ABC Family series Chasing Life, the series premiered in 2014.[3] On October 2 2015, ABC Family canceled Chasing Life after two seasons. [4]
On December 4, 2015 it was announced that Ricci would recur on Supergirl as Siobhan Smythe. [5]
Personal life
Ricci was born in Richmond Hill, Ontario and is of Italian descent. She graduated from Queen's University.[6] She has been dating Canadian actor Robbie Amell since July 2008.[7][8] The couple announced their engagement on August 19, 2014.[9]
