Oh Ji-Min (Hangul: 오지민; born on (1988-05-27) May 27, 1988 (age 36) in Seoul, South Korea), commonly stylized and known by her stage name J-Min (Hangul: 제이민; Japanese: error: {{nihongo}}: Japanese or romaji text required (help)), is a South Korean singer-songwriter and actress active in Japan since 2007 and South Korea since 2014 under the labels SM Entertainment and EMI Records (and formerly with Avex Group[1]). J-Min speaks Japanese and English along with her native Korean.

Music career

2007–09: Debut, Korogaru Ringo, Dream On.., The Singer and Change/One

J-Min's first physical Japanese single "Dream On..." was released on May 23, 2007. It includes two song, "Dream On..." and "Mama". She officially debuted with released her Japanese EP "Korogaru Ringo" on September 12.

On January 16, 2008 her released second Japanese EP "Dream On..". On November 19 J-Min released the cover album "The Singer".

On May 27, 2009, J-Min released her second Japanese single, "Change/One".

2012–13: Soundtrack, If You Want, Heart Theatre

In 2012, J-Min released 6 Original Soundtrack for different dramas, the first called "Hello, Love" and released on January 30 to the KBS2's drama Wild Romance, the second called "시공천 애" and released on April 13 to the MBC's drama God of War, the third called "Can't Say It" was released on April 27 to the MBC's drama The King 2 Hearts, the fourth called "Story" was released on July 2 to the KBS2's drama Sent from Heaven, the fifth called "Stand Up" was released on August 15 for the SBS's drama To the Beautiful You and the last soundtrack released in 2012 called "Beautiful Days" and released on December 11 to the KBS2's drama School 2013. J-Min released her third Japanese single "If You Want" on November 21, 2012. J-Min released her fourth Japanese single, "Heart Theater" on March 13, 2013 .

2014: Cross The Border, Korean debut

J-Min's second Japanese album "Cross The Border" was released on January 21, 2014, with the title track "Sorry".

The song "Hero" was recorded for the MBC's drama Miss Korea .

J-Min performed "Hoo" on June 19's broadcast of Mnet's M! Countdown, June 20's broadcast of KBS's Music Bank, June 21's broadcast of MBC's Music Core, and June 22's broadcast of SBS's Inkigayo with the pre-released digital Korean single "Hoo". On June 24, 2014, J-Min released the Music Video and digital Korean single titled "Hoo".[2]"Hoo" is an acoustic ballad and a re-arrangement of "Hero", the soundtrack for the drama Miss Korea.

In July 2014, SM Entertainment announced J-Min would release a mini album Shine, digitally on July 18 and physically on July 21.[3] The music video for "Shine" featured Titan and Hansol of SMRookies.

Acting career

Musical

In June 2012, J-Min starred in the musical 'Jack the Ripper' as 'Gloria'.The musical ran from 1 June to 17 August 2012 at Chungmu Art Hall in Seoul.

In February 2013, J-Min starred in the musical 'The Three Musketeer' as 'Constance'. It ran from 20 February to 21 April 2013 at Chungmu Art Hall in Seoul.[4]

In 2015, J-Min played 'Vanessa' in the musical 'In The Heights'. She alternated the role with actress Oh Soyeon. The musical was produced by SM C&C, a subsidiary of S.M. Entertainment, and ran from September 4 to November 22 at 'Blue Square'.[5]
