Kalasam (Template:Lang-ta) is a Tamil soap opera that aired Monday through Friday on Sun TV from 14 July 2008 to 26 June 2009 at 8:30PM IST for 234 episodes.[1] It had been receiving the highest ratings of Tamil serials and received high praising from viewers.
The show starred Ramya Krishnan, Sudha Chandran, Kutty Padmini, T. S. B. K. Moulee, Devan and Saakshi Siva among others. It was produced by Vision Time and RDV Staarlight Works, director by M.R. Senthil Kumar, A. Abdulla and Creative Head Ramya Krishnan.
Plot
The story of independent woman Neelambari (Ramya Krishnan) who fights for women’s rights and the other role of a rich woman named Chandramathi (Sudha Chandran) who has a very high self-esteem and is full of attitude.
Rajini(Ramya Krishnan) who is an air force officer is an adopted child to a family and the real mother of Ranjini is Neelambari (Ramya Krishnan). Neelambari and Chandramathi(Sudha Chandran) are very close friends in their young age. Neelambari comes from s very rich family and Chandramathi works under her. This friendship didn't last long. Out of jealousy Chandramathi betrayed Neelambari and took away all her assets and even Neelambari's husband and murdered Naalambari and ran away from the country.
After 25 years Chandramathi sees a women who looks like Neelambari and gets shocked. In the scared of what she did, she decided to bring Ranjini under her control. With many plans all were failure. When one day as per Chandramthi's plan she managed to get Ranjini arrested and jail her.
There comes and lawyer, the well wisher for Neelambari who reads the paper about Ranjini got arrested and dicied to help her. Story begins here with many twist and Neelambari comes after 25 years to take revenge of Chandramthi.
But in the end Neelambari forgives Chandramthi and the drama ends.

The Series was released on 14 July 2008 on Sun TV, the series also airs on Sun TV HD. The Show was also broadcast internationally on Channel's international distribution. It airs in Sri Lanka, Singapore, Malaysia, South East Asia, Middle East, United States, Canada, Europe, Oceania, South Africa and Sub Saharan Africa on Sun TV. The show's episodes were released on Vision Time Tamil YouTube channel from 20 May 2016.
