Košice-okolie District in the Košice Region

Košické Oľšany (Slovak pronunciation: [ˈkɔʃitskɛː ˈɔʎʃani]; Hungarian: Felsőolcsvár) is a village and municipality in Košice-okolie District in the Košice Region of eastern Slovakia.

History

In historical records, the village was first mentioned in 1288 when a part of the village belonged to Slanec Lords, and the other part to Krásna nad Hornádom’s Benedectine abbey.

Geography

The village lies at an altitude of 202 metres and covers an area of 8.669 km². It has a population of about 1140 people.
