The Kratos XQ-58 Valkyrie is a planned unmanned combat air vehicle that is to be deployed by the United States Air Force.

Design objectives

The XQ-58 Valkyrie is intended to be used to escort the F-22 or F-35 during combat missions, and to be able to deploy weapons or surveillance systems.[2] It must also be able to be deployed as part of a swarm of drones, with or without a controlled device. This device is designed as "attritionnable", that is to say at a cost low enough that it can be considered that it is shot, without however being consumable so far.[clarification needed] It is sometimes referred to as low cost drone.
